Edge orientation (2-look OLL, step 1)

Make a cross on top: three cases (dot, line, L).

What it is

The first look of 2-look OLL orients the last-layer edges so a cross shows on top, without caring about corners. Three algorithms cover every case.

Recognition

Count the top-colour stickers on the top face's edges: none is a dot; two opposite is a line (hold it horizontal); two adjacent is a L (hold it at the back left); all four is a cross.

Source: Hand-written. The cases are edge-orientation patterns; each example is SpeedCubeDB's published setup for an OLL case with that edge pattern (OLL 2, 45, 44); the algorithms are the top-voted SpeedCubeDB algorithms for those OLLs, which orient the edges whatever the corners do. Every algorithm shown was checked by the logic engine; rejected ones are listed in docs/db-exclusions.md.
